The latest in shoes, imported fresh fruits, retro accessories, hand-made jewellery, vivid fabrics from Hong Kong, children’s clothes, delicious nam prik (chilli paste) and som tam. You can find all this and more at Talad Lang Kanbin Thai, which translates as "the market behind Thai Airways".
Needless to say, the market is behind the Thai Airways International head office on Soi 22 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. At noon, it’s crowded with airline employees and students from the nearby University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Most of the regulars are women looking for fashionable clothes, christian louboutin, handbags and accessories.
The market comprises more than 200 booths, divided into two zones – an open-air area that sells food, clothes and jewellery, and an air-conditioned arcade that has more stylish boutiques.
